2-time NBA MVP Steve Nash Retires


On Saturday, 41-year old Steve Nash announced his retirement from the NBA. Nash was a childhood hero of mine and without a doubt one of the greatest players of our generation. He played 19 NBA seasons, but he just couldn't stay healthy has he started to age. Steve left his unique stamp on the game and he will be missed dearly. He ended his career with some staggering statistics: 8-time NBA All-Star, 2-time league MVP, and 3rd all time in assists (10,335). Not bad for a 6 foot 3 point-guard out of Canada with low expectations when he came into the league. He gained the respect of every teammate he played with and will for ever go down as one of the best to ever play the point-guard position. His retirement was not a shock, but many NBA players felt the need to pay their respect. The vast majority turned to social media. Here's a brief sample:
